This concert turned out to be one of the most memorable concerts I have ever attended.
I knew Dick Dale was kind of a legend but wasn’t familiar with his catalog except for the soundtrack to Pulp Fiction.
So I was excited! I was standing in the bar area dead center about 40 feet back from stage.
From what I remember, I think the band got on stage a little late, and then after they played the first song,
Dick Dale starts to talk about how all the bands equipment didn’t show up and was lost in transit.
They had to scramble to find equipment for everybody, including the drums and stage amps and everything.
The only thing they had was Dick‘s guitar.
Looking at the stage set up, all the amps and everything were in a very peculiar position.
Nothing seemed to be in place as you would normally expect all the instruments and equipment to be set up.
I remember going home later that night and quickly drawing a diagram of how everything was laid out on the stage
just because it was so unique, but anyway the performance was really good and really loud.
I walked away extremely excited about what I just heard and witnessed and my recording came out really nice.
I am very happy with the way this sounds and I’ve been listening to it again over and over so I’m pretty thrilled and
I think you folks will like it too. This recording has never circulated. The mini disc was never transferred until now.
I also discovered that the drummer was the son of Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick.

So don’t sleep on this one! y’all better download it. It’s a keeper!

I also have another Dick Dale that I recorded the following year. That’s 100 minutes.
I’ve got to work out the setlist on that one still so I plan to release that one soon.
