This is a promo tape that was given to radio stations in the Seattle area to promote the Dinosaurs' July 16, 1983, performance at the Paramount Theater in Seattle. It may have been used in other markets as well. Richard Brender of Crabbygoat productions was the promoter of the Paramount Theater show. He explained that the tape was not meant to be played over the air, but instead was sent around to encourage DJs to mention the show as a sort of public service announcement. See the accompanying image of the tape. No idea how well that worked.

The tape came from Caroline Welch (a/k/a Carlisle) who passed away in July 2008 and is still missed. Caroline was close with Richard which is how this cassette wound up in her collection.

Each of these five tracks was recorded separately, and based on the levels and differences in tape hiss, from at least two different venues / recordings. San Francisco sounds like a separate studio session. Attempts to identify the performances were unsuccessful. Presumably, it's all from earlier in 1983. Thanks to SIRMick, Mossa, Mike Cross and Richard for help documenting this.

Enjoy!
