I am very excited to kick off a new mini series of historic master recordings from dime member swittich.
Swittich taped 13 shows in 1973-1974 in the Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia area, four have been previously released from straight transfers and the balance are uncirculated. In the past collectors offering to transfer shows wanted to pick and choose specific shows, of course we will be releasing every show...no tape left behind.
Our first release is a previously uncirculated performance from the Doobie Brothers from the back half of the 1973 "The Captain And Me" tour.
This is a rare performance from "The Captain And Me" tour and is a snapshot of a random night during the long tour. Up until now we've only had the usual promotional performances, radio and TV gigs from 1973.
What makes this one even more unique is the inclusion of four "What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits" songs two months prior to that LP's release. A fun fact, the front and back cover photos for that release where taken in Bowling Green, KY two days prior to this show.
Thanks to swittich for reaching out for assistance in getting these historic shows out, the tapes have been safely stored and so far so good on transfers.
On the honor roll for this release is Goody, our resident pitch master, this one sure needed his help.
Artwork is included.
