The Doors
C W Post, College Dome Auditorium, Greenvale, NY, 1972 March 2nd
Source: From a trade CD-R, probably issued by DCM (Doors Collectors Magazine). The tracklist of this show is not mentioned
in Greg Shaw's book "The Doors On The Road" (which is the indispensable guide to their live shows), so as the book is
from 1997, this show started to circulate sometime later than that.
1) Tightrope Ride 4.44 (there's a cut of digital origin at 3'25")
2) Variety Is The Spice Of Life 2.35
3) The Mosquito (instr.) 5.24
4) In The Eye Of The Sun 4.51
5) Im Horny, Im Stoned 5.14
6) Band Introductions 2.40
7) Love Me Two Times 5.36
8) Get Up And Dance 3.45
9) Ships w/Sails 11.01
10) Good Rockin 5.26
11) Light My Fire 10.30
12) Close To You 5.10
I'd give this tape something like 6+ out of 10. If you wonder whether to download it, I can say it sounds not worse than
about any other post-Jim tape, and on par with quite a lot of their "classic period" tapes. Or in other words, if you are
a fan of their post-Jim albums, it's a worthy acquisition.
This was the first show of their "East Coast college tour" in 1972, and Jack Conrad on bass and Bobby Ray on
rhythm guitar are mentioned in Track 6.
Lineage: Trade CD-R > EAC* > WAV > mkwACT > SHN > mkwACT > WAV > FLAC Frontend 1.7.1 [Level 8]
* I did not write down the CD drive model I used when I made the rip, but all my trusty CD drives always ripped into
finely-tuned EAC, and this is an exact copy of the CD-R I've got.**
** The cut at 3'25" of Track 1 is not indicative of the performance of my CD drive by any means.
