- although i had a great spot for the mic and it was on a stand, strawberry protocol kept me from going high with the mic... consequently, some of the folks seated just ahead and under the mic line get a bit chatty in parts. i wasn't near the mic during the show, so couldn't do much about the chattering nattering nabobs.
- who would have guessed that of all the strawberry performers, the oldest would play the longest set? anyway, rather than try to switch discs in between songs, i let the first 80-min disc run out and then quickly put in a new one. consequently, i missed a bit at the end of track 16. i've made an edit at about 4:06 that appends the coda section to the track a bit earlier than the band actually played it. ;-) there is probably 30 seconds missing between what i trimmed out of what i had and what i missed that night.

i got to see dr. john do his 'night tripper' show a couple of years ago at bonnaroo and that was a surreal late-night treat. this show was far more 'conventional' (for lack of a better word), but still great. the strawberry vibe is a bit 'precious' in that everyone is seated the entire time (and a few people complained about how 'loud' it was during son volt!), but dr. john got folks moving as much as they could without getting out of their carefully-placed lawn chairs. it was a beautiful night; great weather and a great set from dr. john. the band is tight and the new orleans groove was a nice complement to the natural environment.
