RADIO NOTES
Dreamtime was born in 1982.
When trombone player Nick Evans, drummer Jim le Baigue and saxophonist Gary Curson got together for what they thought would be a short series of chop stretching rehearsals the sparks flew and the trio knew they couldnt leave it at that.
New Yorker Jim Dvorak who, like Nick Evans, was a regular with Chris McGregor's legendary all nations big band The Brotherhood of Breath was added on trumpet. Then came Italian bass player Roberto Bellatalla.
As a quintet Dreamtime recorded their debut LP Bunny Up in 1983 before the addition of one of the great free radicals of UK jazz, pianist Keith Tippett.
