Drive-By Truckers
2024-11-05
Detroit, MI
Saint Andrews Hall

Master recording from right side, 50 feet back.

Sure MV88 Mic - iPod Touch/Motiv-Audio app (24/48) -
ProTools (mastered/EQ/Widen) - SoundForge (Splits, fades, FLAC).

Sound quality is good - I'd rate it a B/B-, though for a lot of it it's better
than that. There was an annoying, obnoxious loudmouth behind me yelling things
on and off throughout the night, and it was sold out and packed in so I had few
options to move. He mostly shut up during the songs at least, and was a bit
quieter after I gave him the look, but it was irritating.

Mains went out for a few seconds during "Days of Graduation." Things get a little
muffled here and there, crowd was hootin' and hollerin' as always, but the sound
was way better than it was last time they were in town. Overall a pretty easy listen.

The Truckers came to Detroit on election night while out supporting the re-issue/re-mix
of their great 2001 album Southern Rock Opera with no support, playing the record front
to back (with a few non-SRO songs mixed in and the track "Cassie's Brother" left out).
It was one of the best Truckers shows I've seen - and I've seen a bunch, going back to
the first SRO tour, their first show in Detroit.
