Heartache Tonight

I grew up with hearing this band's music on the regular, so I can see why people like them and why people don't. With the ticket prices on this band, I wasn't sure I would ever see them but began to give it serious thought when a final tour was announced. I realize this is still in progress at the time of this writing (March 2024), so it's possible I may see this again. When I saw an Omaha date on the list, I started having serious thoughts of plans when my dad (of all people) decided he wanted to go, it was a done deal. I had not been in this building since 2007 (Roger Waters) and forgot how tight the seats are (I am 6'3" with long legs). I am not sure I will see a concert in this building again, but this show was worth catching. I can see where the comments of low-key shows from this band come from, but by and large they nailed the tunes very well (although I didn't like the treatment of Witchy Woman). I was also surprised that Joe Walsh had 3 spots for solo tunes while Don Henley only gave himself 1. My seats were on the stage right side about 14 rows back but just about in direct line with the PA stack, so I think my sonic results here aren't too bad. I did put a light HPF on this (125 khz with a 6 dB rolloff) and I think it helps with playback in various systems. If downsampling to burn to disc, you can split the discs anywhere you wish but it is somewhat set up for a split between New Kid in Town and Joe Walsh's banter.
