notes:
-another from my archives, this is one of Wes' master recordings I am sure due to hearing his cheering on the tape, the abrupt cuts at the end of each tune
that he used to do to save tape, and the "sound" of his Aiwa recorder - this makes it a 1st gen tape for me. Wes used to get a table as close as possible
and just put the Aiwa right on it and use the internal mics - he was not a quality buff at all - was happy if he could just listen to it 1-3 more times
again and likely never again - luckily a friend and me used to make copies. I used to be picky with his stuff because the sound just wasn't that great,
but this is still quite listenable to: in the "B+/B" range - it's clear, it's just low-quality Aiwa shit.
-real good show from this quintet who have played on and off together for about 20 years. Bill and Danny are great in track 2 and track 3 may be the
same tune that Egan/Gottlieb open up the WFMU show I seeded recently, as they shine in it. Track 4 is latter day weather Report like. Track 5 is the very
end of track 4 with tape a tape flip dividing them. Sweet guitar work from steve in "1000 Words." Last track is great!
-this show was after the "Illumination" LP release time period. If you like these guys, I highly recommend this show - quite good and listenable to also.
-mastered and seeded by matt23.
