Ellen White & The Plus Sized Band
Waterfront Blues Festival
Portland, OR.
July 2, 2016

I'm in the process of moving after 36 years in the same house an am not going to be able to record as much this year. I'll try to get all the major acts and some favorites I've had over the years. Again, KBOO FM is broadcasting the show live. KBOO is an all volunteer station. They started last year breaking in at odd times to let listeners know what stations are broadcasting. Weird. All proceeds from the festival go to the Oregon Food Bank so please donate if you can. They also have a live stream on the internet. It's an MP3 stream. My set up is an old Technics Quartz Tuner> H2 Zoom> SD card> computer> TLH.

Ellen Whyte is a multi-award winning vocalist and songwriter who loves her life's work. She's fronted bands for over 35 years and melds her rich influences of jazz, blues, rock, gospel, and Americana into every performance. Ellen was grateful to be inducted recently into the Oregon Music Hall Of Fame.

Sue Orfield plays the tenor saxophone with the whimsy of Sonny Rollins, the passion of Kurt Cobain, the soul of Bill Withers, and the joy of Ella Fitzgerald. Along with a compelling mastery of her instrument, Sue brings to the stage a powerful presence and joy of all things musical.

Together Sue and Ellen will share the stage at the Waterfront Blues Festival, Saturday, July 2nd, 2016 for a truly unique set of originals and some surprises! The Plus Sized Band will be on deck flexing its musical muscle, bringing heart and heat to this highly anticipated performance.
