Elton John
Dick James Demos Vol. 1 and Vol. 2
1967-1971
Source: Unknown (master tapes?)
Lineage: Silver CD>EAC WAV>FLAC8
Artwork: Yes
These Demos were recorded between 1967-1971, at the Dick James Studios where Elton was working at the time. These are fully produced, with
backing instrumentation. It is believed that Caleb Quaye was very involved with these sessions, as he worked with Elton at these studios
during this time. These Elton John/Bernie Taupin songs were written in hopes of other recording them, and these tapese were made to
market them. I think these are very good, fun to listen to, and shows Elton and Bernie in a very late 60's frame of writing.I have removed
"Come Down in Time" from Vol. 1, and "Sixty Years On" from Vol. 2, as they appear on the "Tumbleweed Connection" and "Elton John" Deluxe Editions released
in 2008.
Volume 2 has some of the same songs as Volume 1, but these are different mixes.
