Elton John (Reg Dwight)
Saturday Sun Sessions
July 1970

These songs were recorded as Demos to present the songs by these artists to other artists, to generate interest in covering them. These are excellent and not to be missed by fans of early Elton John. These songs fit right in with the albums "Elton John", "Tumbleweed Connection" and "Madman Across the Water". Tracks 1-7 feature Elton on lead vocals and piano, while tracks 8-11 feature Linda Peters (who became Linda Thompson, of Linda and Richard Thompson) on vocals and Elton on Piano. The last time I saw that these songs were on Dime was in 2005, and I do not have that version to compare to. These are the best quality of these songs that I have ever heard, and I have three different versions of this.

All tracks feature a full band. I have read a couple of different versions of who is in the band, as follows:

Elton John-- Piano/vocals
Linda Peters-- vocals

Jim Capaldi or Gerry Conway - Drums
Pat Donaldson- Bass
Simon Nicol- Guitar (although it sounds like Caleb Quaye)

Others rumoured to appear are Nick Drake, John Martyn, Caleb Quaye, Roger Pope.
