I have been assured that this is the ENTIRE concert.

I was not at this show and I did not record it, so this will be
relatively short and sweet. I got this show in a trade at least
15 years ago if not earlier than that. My source did not know if
it was from bootleg vinyl, reel to reel tape or what. The show is
basically 90 minutes long. When I saw ELP play at the Civic Arena
in Pittsburgh, PA on August 12, 1972, this is about how long they
played, I believe. The SQ of this recording is very good, especially
considering the technology available at that time. There is a mild
amount of hiss present as well as a little bit of very occasional
warble in some piano and guitar parts. None of these is cause for
undue alarm.There is NO audience chatter present ; the audience was
very respectful of the band and each other. At the beginning of the
first track, a woman (?) says, "Jim"...that's about it ! When
listened to on headphones, the recording reveals a few pops and
crackles in certain areas. This did not strike me as wide-spread.
One thing that is certain is that the performance is dynamic. Tarkus
had just been released in June 1971 and the band plays a number of
cuts from the album to the delight of the audience. It's truly a
wonderful show.

I have a favor to ask of the members here: the first concert I ever saw
was Emerson, Lake and Palmer at the Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, PA on August
12, 1972. It was a magical, stunning show that I'll never forget. If
any of you have a recording of this show or know someone who does,
PLEASE post it or PM me, even if you think that the sound quality is
really crappy. I've been looking for that show for almost 38 years now
and you never know what treasures lurk in peoples' closets or attics or
basements, hidden away in cardboard boxes. It's one of my few Holy Grail
recordings and it would be great to get a copy of it. Please help me out,
OK ??? OK !!!

but I think you'll find that this is a really good-sounding tape
considering the time period and a welcome addition to any ELP fan's
