Thank goodness ELP finally chose to play a show in Colorado as the final 1998 tour wore down. This was the only time I was able to see ELP play in my backyard - and I am forever grateful. And nearly 20 years after the show, I would like to humbly apologize to those around me at the show. You see, I was the one and only "jerk" who stood throughout the entire ELP set. I remember sticking out like a sore thumb, especially during the quiet parts of Tarkus. But, I was on a mission to nail this show - and basically succeeded with the equipment I had. I wish I had a bass roll-off for this show as it is a bit bassy, but otherwise I was (and am) very pleased with how the recording came out. I was sitting pretty close to the stage but off on the right section a bit and the sound quality is always suspect and Fiddlers Green. This is the first time I have ever uploaded this master and if anyone was at the show and a bit miffed by the jerk who wouldn't sit down, hopefully this recording will make ammends. Sample included.
And, I'm sorry to say that my ELP well has run dry (for now). This is my last ELP upload here at TDD. Hopefully, you have found some enjoyable ELP shows I've uploaded over that past several months. It was fun going thru them all again and blowing the dust off of these recordings that should have been shared with everyone long ago. Actually, I have many more 1990's ELP shows that I could share, but I have priorities and other artists I want to get to.
BUt, I'm not quite done as I have several Keith Emerson solo shows to share next, so you're not quite done with me yet. Stay tuned ....
