As most Eric Clapton collectors will know, this was the final US date for 1983.

Two shows were played at Red Rocks and both are available as liberated SBD's.

These have recently been posted, here are the links for those.

July 16, 1983 SBD:
"Camels With Bourbon on the Rocks" [ALKY-8303/04]

July 17, 1983 SBD:
"Red On The Rocks" [Silver Horse SH-8301]

I have both of these and have compared them to this newly flac'd audience recording.

One of the first differences I noticed is that both SBD's are missing the opening song "Livin' On Tulsa Time".

You'll also notice that on 7/17 boot these 2 songs are absent, "Country Boy & Have You Ever Loved A Woman".

On this new audience recording, the taper ran out of tape and missed the final encore with The Blasters.

I borrowed "Further On Up The Road" (*) alternate audience track from the "Red on the Rocks" boot, to make this post more complete.

Getting to hear this new audience recording will definitely give you a new listening experience.

Thanks goes to the taper for supplying the master transfer.

On a side note, as I was comparing the tape speed on the 7/17/83 SBD versus this audience tape, they are nearly identical.

I felt that no pitch correction was needed.

But when you listen to 7/16 and 7/17 sbd's, you'll notice that 7/16 sounds noticeably slower.

I think the 7/16/83 sbd, needs a Clapton expert to revisit that and possibly do some work on it, just a thought. but it isn't gonna be me this time.

okay enough chit chat, on with the show !!!

The tape flip was after track 8.
