** from analog audience master, AZIMUTH ALIGNED, MWM 0146 **
>> FM INTERVIEW, LIVE IN THE STUDIO with host Thomas Gottschalk -
UNTRADED & UNCIRCULATED << with sample

Preliminary remark:

As far as I know NONE of this recording was ever used commercially ;-)

This upload here comes directly from the "Men With Microphones" archive.
"MWM" started in the 70ies in South Germany with analog recording equipment,
and at least two of them are still recording sometimes (since the 90ies on DAT,
and, lazy as we are, since lately with small, handheld WAV-recorders on SD-cards).
The "MWM" startet as a project of friends sharing their hobbies together. But by
reason of jobs, partners and other interests the circle of all involved shrinked.

Found this one as a filler on a DAT tape, maybe there's some interest...

Bayerischer Rundfunk [Bavarian Broadcasting] (BR) is the public broadcasting authority
for the German Freistaat (Free State) of Bavaria, with its main offices located in
Munich. BR is a member of ARD and is a broadcaster for the general public. Its functions
are determined by a legal foundation, which creates the broadcaster's principles and its
internal organization. These regulations are contained in the Bavarian Broadcasting Law
(Bayerisches Rundfunkgesetz), originally passed in 1948, and updated in 1993.

Thomas Gottschalk (born 18 May 1950 in Bamberg, Germany) is a famous German TV host.
He is best-known for hosting the popular show "Wetten, dass..?", which he has led to
a huge success in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol.

From 1971 on, Gottschalk worked as a freelancer for the youth program of the Bayerischer
Rundfunk (Bavarian radio); in 1973, he became anchor for a news program. In 1976, after
a brief detour to the newspaper Münchner Merkur, he became a regular employee of the
Bayerischer Rundfunk, and subsequently gained popularity as the host of the show
"Pop nach acht". He was awarded the Kurt-Magnus-Preis for his "outstanding talents"
as a radio host in 1978. But within the last 30+ years and along with his stunning
public career he became a totally bugging chatterbox, and i know lots of his early fans
(from the 70ies) that use his TV-apearances for inducing vomiting, at a real cheap rate ;-)

In total the interview lasted 22 minutes (including three songs),
Eric was promoting his (back then) new album "Journeyman", the
German release date (also worldwide) was November 7, 1989.

The album has an electronic sound, mostly influenced by the 80's rock scene,
but it also had blues songs like "Before You Accuse Me", "Running On Faith"
and "Hard Times". The strongest single from this album was "Bad Love," which
earned him the 1990 Best Male Rock Vocal Performance Grammy Awards, and reached
the #1 position on the Album Rock Chart. "Pretending" also reached the #1 position
on the Album Rock Chart the previous year, remaining at the top for 5 weeks
("Bad Love" had only stayed for 3 weeks).

The album was a moderate commercial success, reaching just the 16th position
on the Billboard 200 chart, but becoming his first solo studio album to go
double platinum. This is one of Eric Clapton's favourite albums.

It is what it is - "It ain't perfect, but it ain't bad"

Nothing to add, except:

FOR THE FIRST TIME OUT OF OUR ARCHIVE,
COMPLETELY UNTRADED, SLIGHTLY MASTERED,
AND OTHERWISE UNALTERED - PLEASE ENJOY!

"Munich" is the german "München" or "Muenchen"

Munich is the capital city of Bavaria, Germany. It is located on the River Isar
north of the Bavarian Alps. Munich is the third largest city in Germany, after
Berlin and Hamburg. There are approximately 1.35 million people living within
city limits, while the Munich Metropolitan Area (including the urban areas of
Augsburg, Ingolstadt, Rosenheim and Landshut) is home to over 5 million people.

Big thanks to my wife, Mrs. Leo, for supporting

My dear buddy Ken TheCommish usually writes (and hey, he's damn right):
If you decide to download this show, won't you please consider posting a comment
on the show's board? It only takes a moment, and believe me, it takes A LOT longer
to prepare/upload a show for others to enjoy than it does to download and run...

You know, our friend Dave T says: "There's always more to come..."
And i'll promise you to keep MY tapes coming...
