Notes: This is the opening night of the "Pilgrim" tour, and is both longer than most 1998 shows and contains songs quickly dropped from the set. If you're a "Pilgrim" fan, this one's for you -- "Born In Time," "Needs His Woman," and "Sick and Tired" all vanished within a week; it's interesting to hear EC cover a Dylan song ("Born In Time") with a full orchestra behind him.

The performance is great -- Clapton comments that this show made it "the best birthday I've ever had"; the band was clearly into it. The recording is great -- I would rate it at a solid 9/10 -- and is one of the few tapes I've heard from the tour where you can hear the orchestra prominently in the mix.

Definitely a keeper, if you like this era of his live career.
