Comments: This extensive box set was released in 2006 by the E.C. Is Here label, containing nearly all of the shows from the 2003 Japan tour. This was originally posted to DIME (and I think Zomb) by BluesFan in September 2006; many thanks to him for making this great set available. Most if not all of these shows have been booted by other labels and some individual releases may be superior to those included with this set; however, these are all uniformly very-good-to-excellent recordings and are enjoyable in their own right. This is a great set overall, and all would be enjoyable even to the most casual Clapton/ROIO fan.
In terms of performance, these are all outstanding. The setlist doesn't vary tremendously from night to night (typically 1-2 tracks differ from the previous show), but his playing is always inventive and inspiring, particularly whenever he plays in Japan. I think the 1995 and 2003 runs in Japan are some of his best performances of the last two decades.
Comments from the original post:
Following his massive world tour to support the Reptile album, Clapton took off all of 2002 and most of 2003, making guest appearances at charity gigs and little else. In November 2003, he returned to Japan for a massive tour of the country, staying almost an entire month. Even though hed been off for so long, this tour was with his then very long together band, and the playing is uniformly excellent throughout, as is the sound quality.
Its important to recognize that Clapton loves Japan and almost always plays well there. Im no mind reader but the obvious reasons are that he has a huge and extremely loyal fan base there, and that the Japanese fans are always very polite and respectful when he plays (one benefit of this for us is that there is very little audience noise while hes actually playing). Some of Erics finest performances have been in Japan, and this set contains some real gems!
The friendly folks at the E.C. Is Here bootleg label, not content to let Hoochie Coochie dominate the Clapton tour box set market, have brought the entire tour to us, and its my pleasure to share it all with you. So go out and buy that external hard drive youve been lusting after, and chop some firewood for the CD burner, and start downloading some primo EC.

Many thanks to the original poster. Mp3 samples are included in the comments for those who would prefer to cherry-pick individual shows out of this set.
