TECHNICAL NOTES:

TRADE > LiteOn iHAP322 (UL18 Firmware) > EAC v. 0.99 Prebeta 4 (Secure Mode, Offset Calibrated, +6, 0) > FLAC (Level 5) > You !!!

This concert was originally aired live by BBC Radio 2. The show begins with an announcer voice-over as the band begins with "Let it Rain". The original live broadcast ended with "Cocaine", as the band left the stage for the encore break.

The encores ("Sunshine of Your Love" and "Got My Mojo Working") were never broadcast by the BBC.

Some weeks after the concert, I was contacted by a BBC Engineer and offered a complete, pre-FM version of this show, with encores, "no optimod or additional compression". Fuck it, I don't even know what "optimod" is, but damned if it doesn't sound impressive, and if he says it doesn't have it - it doesn't.

Now here's the rub ... the BBC distributed this show from the venue to their broadcast centre via an internal digital link, which is lossy. I have no idea what the technical specifications are of the internal BBC link. BUt in the case of this recording, because of the distribution used, *all* versions of this performance are from the same signal, as there was never an analog distribution. In this case, there is nothing to be gained by acquiring FM broadcast versions, since they were broadcast using the same source.

Here it is, in all its glory. No remastering, no "tweaking", no editing, no B.S., in perfect digital quality.

Included are the various analysis graphs (http://wiki.dimeadozen.org/index.php/DimeFAQ:How_to_analyze_an_audio_file_for_lossiness) as well as my additional analysis graph for the "lossy posse".

PLEASE NOTE: I have communicated with the DIME Mod Squad and cleared this torrent (as pertains under http://wiki.dimeadozen.org/index.php/Caclas#freelossycopies) as because of the nature of this broadcast, no lossless copies exist due to the nature of the BBC's internal digital link.

PLEASE NOTE: I repeat, ALL versions of this performance show the same contour. This includes the Mid Valley releases "Black Beauty" and "Black Beauty Complete", the latter which is likely a tweaked version of this very recording. There are also versions of this in circulation from the BBC webcast (yuck!) and FM, which show the same.

PERFORMANCE NOTES:

WOW! Yes, a palindrome, it's that good. The 2004 tour was, for many of us, one of EC's best tours ever. With a new, invigorated band, even old classics seemed fresh and if you're into the "guitar hero" stuff, it's here in spades. The mix is spot-on and in your face.

SPECIAL BONUS:

(*) Rehearsal Tracks (D2, T7 & T8) are not included here as they are mp3 - sourced.

However, this torrent includes a first-time-ever bonus! The staff here at Geetarz labs have been working overtime perfecting the technology to include a FREE COMPLEMENTARY AIR GUITAR with every single download!

Yes, it's true, click "download torrent file" and you will receive a FREE *air guitar* allowing you to jam along with EC and his band !!!!

BUT WAIT ! THERE'S MORE !!!

The torrent ALSO includes:

1. One Philson Stratoblaster Air Guitar
2. One Air Guitar Amplifier (Marshall or Fender, randomly)
3. One Air Guitar cord
4. One Air Guitar Strap
5. One Air Guitar Electronic Tuner
6. Set of Air Guitar Replacement Strings

Everything you need is there. So tune up, plug in, crank up the stereo, and wail away as you jam along with EC and his band.

About the title ... for the first of the 3 New York shows on this tour in 2004, a friend managed to snag us some front row center tickets on the day of the performance. After the show, we met up with friends who were sitting up off the side of the stage and they were smirking. Why? Apparently, yours truly, Geetarz, was jamming along on Air Guitar with Eric Clapton during "Got to Get Better"! I have no memory of doing this, but they swear it's true. It's probably as close as I will ever get to jamming with Eric Clapton, and let me tell you, I can Air Guitar with the best of them. Check out video I shot that night, you'd want to play along, too, as EC motors through with a broken string hanging down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5VXWPqjLR0).

And I don't want to be biased towards non-guitar players! If you play other Air Instruments, you can play along with this show as well. Call your friends, and form an Air Band to jam along with this show. Heck, even I have Air Skills I didn't know I had ... we went to see Fleetwood Mac, when video popped up of the show on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz9-6uVrCcE) there I was with Miss Macpai (the future Mrs. Geetarz), standing at Lindsey Buckingham's feet ... but I was playing Air Drums with Mick Fleetwood ! I didn't even know I had it in me until I saw the video.

PLEASE NOTE: This set is for trade, and NEVER for sale. If you receive a copy of this set without the accessory AIR items, you have been ripped off!

Artwork, fingerprints (FFP, MD5, ST5), Analysis files, EAC logs, and info file included.

Remember, kids ... PLAY IT LOUD!
