* This was written right after the show

This was the second show and recording of Eric Steckel in as many days as we went
on our annual pilgrimage to Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pa, found out about it from Eric
who told me about it several years ago, free concerts & some great music so here we go
again presenting you with a taste of the great Eric Steckel.

Sorry to say this is not a complete recording as mother nature had the final say here,
although we got there early and set up close to the stage and planned another experiment
at 24 bit 96 khz to see how well of a recording we could get of this show, rain, thunder
& lightning forced me to abandon my efforts as i was getting soaked and so was my gear.

Albeit the short stay during the second set, we were able to capture the first set in it's
entirety, and 20 minutes of the second set missing about a 40 minute chunk of the show. What
a shame that this show was abbreviated, because as i listened to this recording in my car i
heard a fantastic show recorded with great results.

Eric Steckel, guitar prodigy has been playing live shows since he was eleven, and now he's
really shining with a new band and some new songs coming from his forthcoming new cd coming
out in early October, always trying to re-invent himself onstage with different material or
guest musicians the band sounds fantastic really stepping up his game here, some incredibly
tasty guitar work and vocals as his voice has finally manned up, since watching him at fifteen
years old it's interesting to see how this little kid has grown to become one of the most
exciting guitarists out there.

This show was high energy, deep down & dirty guitar from the start of "Funky C Funky Do" he
never let's up, only slowing down to pay tribute on Donny Hathaway's "We're Still Friends"
a gut wrencher full of emotion, really shows Eric's maturity as a musician in many ways. Also,
at this show were some special guest's on vocals that were introduced during the second set.
First was a young lady by the name of Jessica Frick who gets the mic & Eric trades up his
guitar to play keys while the rest of the band takes a break. Apparently the thunder &
lightning had some effect on this recording as around 12:27 seconds into the second set we
get some unwanted booming/sonic distortion for less than a second.

Following "One and Only" is the boys throwing down old school on "Born Under A Bad Sign" and
the last song recorded is "Stormy Monday" which features guest vocalist Nancy Coletti who had
sang the night before at Havana and unfortunately the rain was just too much for me and my gear
so we called it quits, i'm sure the rest of the show was equally just as impressive.

Fantastic performance, although abbreviated this was a typical night for Eric Steckel & Co. as
they rock Musikfest again.
If you like kick ass blues/rock guitar look no further !

Eric has a new cd coming out in early October, keep your eyes peeled!

BTW, Eric is taper friendly so get out there!
