I'd nominate this is as Dando's best solo performance ever. It is surely the best I ever saw or
heard. Dando played McCabe's on two different occasions in 1993. The first time in May was excellent
and wound up a widely circulated bootleg (not my tape but someone else's), one commercial version
of which was called The Secret Life of Evan Dando. On the strength of the show I saw that May,
I encouraged friends to come with me to the return engagement of two shows, early and late,
in November. So with friends sitting beside me on my recommendation, Dando played the early set
in something of a stupor. He seemed completely disoriented and disinterested, and just when you
thought he was pulling it together, he'd wander off mic. In fact, I'd say at least 20% of the show
was off mic altogether. The shambolic set ended abruptly and I felt the need to apologize to my
friends who could not see what I was raving about from May.They left and another friend joined
for the second set. I braced her for the worst, but Dando returned to play the stunning set posted here,
chock full of amazing covers (Parsons, Danzig!, Lucinda Williams, the Louvins) and heartfelt performances.
I've seen him a few times since and collecting other shows, but nothing compares to this one. Hope you
enjoy it as much as I did. This is one of a handful of masters JEMS made at McCabe's 1992-94, but the one
nearest and dearest to my heart.

Sound A and no Artwork.

Thanks to the first seeder to post this great acoustic Show.

Enjoy
