TheCommish notes: Due to rain, this show was moved indoors (high school auditorium) from its originally-scheduled outdoor location at Parker Press Park. And my attending this show was actually "Plan B" as I had other plans that were rained out on this same night.

I had not heard this band's music aside from checking out a couple of their YouTube videos so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect since they're sometimes billed as "folk" or "indie." Honestly, the "folk" label almost scared me off from going to see them but I ended up pleasantly surprised at what I heard! I would consider Fantastic Cat more "Americana" than folk music (I was thinking of The Jayhawks and similar bands during the show).

Since my initial plans fell through, I got to the auditorium later than I would have liked and, consequently, I sat much further back than I would have liked. The positive of sitting further back was that I had extremely few people sitting near me so my recording is essentially free from chatter. However, a little bit of editing work was needed in order to get the volume of the quieter portions (mainly talking between songs) closer to the volume of the louder portions (the songs). After some work in Audacity, Cool Edit Pro and Nero's wave editor, I'm very happy with the final result.

All 4 members took turns singing lead and they also switched instruments (guitar, bass, drums) on different songs. They were joined onstage by a keyboardist which really rounded out the sound. They wrapped up the show with their version of Warren Zevon's "Take Me In Your Heart."
