Fiftymen are an institution around Ottawa, ON, and their hometown of Wakefield, QC (just across the river and up the highway for a few miles). They play hard-rocking alt-county with great twang guitars. And while J.J. Hardill isn't the world's best singer, he makes up for that in style, penning some great songs with the hard-working other members of the band.

This was an outdoor event, with the usual self-centered people chatting away to each other, but because the music's loud, you only really hear them in between songs.
