Total Time ::: 1:11:33

::: EX- dynamic, decent AUD. Check samples for action analysis - shake out or shake some.
::: Warts: Some AUD noise/yelling but not bad, mostly between songs & the worst of it lowered, tho' there are a couple of briet spots of singalong. Bit o' clapping, also minimized. Music levels brought up slightly to compensate for ALC.
::: Friday 8:00pm showtime. Bill: Ardent Sons, Rain Parade, Flamin' Groovies.
::: Groovies started ~10:15pm & this is the complete set.
::: Ardent Songs not taped by this source, but he recorded 1/2 the Rain Parade set.

::: Setlist.fm (frustrating&clunky site IMO) misordered&wrong as per taper/recording."2nd Cousin"was last song."Slow Death"NOT played.
::: Possibly Loney's last Groovies show? In June prior to EU tour, he fell @SF airport&hit his head&couldn't travel.
::: 5 fairly high quality videos from this show @ www.youtube.com/user/gridlifeTV/videos
::: 2019 saw Chris WIlson take a break from the FGs, but still a Groovy line-up/sound!
::: R.I.P. Mike Wilhelm 2019-05-14, musician extraordinaire, ex-Charlatans/Groovies, exited a month prior to this gig.
::: R.I.P. Roy Loney (R.I.P.), who passed away some 7 months later, December 13, 2019.
::: gofundme site no longer active, but likely Chris Wilson would likely appreciate support, written or otherwise - facebook page below.

DimeTravel 601 ::: Thanks to the original taper & trader, Zongo! ::: Corrections welcome ::: Who would ever have thought, 48 years later(!); you could hear a high quality rippin' live version of the Flamin' Groovies playing their classic album, "Teenage Head"? Should restore some people's faith in humankind, and there's a lot of restorin' to do, lately. Set up so you can leave out the comments & noise between songs & go straight to the heart of it. Time, once again, to shake some action - air guitars to the fore! Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees

TAPER NOTES: "The Chapel was a bar in the vague shape of a church. Fairly chaotic, people moving around, talking, dancing, so taping conditions were far from perfect. Sound in the hall was pretty average for a rock bar/club, not terrible but not outstanding. Sometimes one or the other of the lead guitars was pretty low in the mix. I was standing stage right about 15 feet from the stage with the recorder held just below head level and pointed somewhat upwards, halfway between the band on stage and the suspended PA speaker. I had some problem seeing the recorder in the dark room, and ended up setting it to "Lo" mic sensitivity but with "Auto"matic limiting and did not notice the limiting setting. One problem was a woman in front of me kept moving against me and knocking against my arm holding the recorder. The band was quite energetic physically and in terms of the music. When Roy Loney came out he appeared disheveled and was opening a beer and appeared not to be able to find the correct microphone he was supposed to sing into. For these reasons I was expecting perhaps a lackluster performance from him, but once the music started he clicked right into gear, did not miss any cues, was very energetic and expressive with his hands and his voice, interacting musically with the rest of the band, and overall it was an excellent performance. Venue was open standing with a small number of tables or seats on a small balcony above and behind the hall. The hall seats 400, and seemed mostly full. The crowd included all ages, with a slight predominance of young people, perhaps in their 30s, including about half women." (Zongo 2019)
