What a great second stage headliner for the last day of the Hangout Music Fest, the Flips doing "Dark Side of the Moon." They had some help from Phantogram, an indie pop duo from Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and a Scottish woman dressed in a skin tight gold body suit with gossamer wings.
For this show, I was situated on the left side of the front of the soundboard by some pretty cool people, but with my luck, I had the usual jerks who prefer talking to each other with no respect for the people around them, camp out in front of me. Fortunately, most of the time their discussion isn't very audible.
Now the bad news. There is some noise during the quieter parts here and there. I originally thought it was wind noise and it might be. Then again, I started experiencing some problems with the R-09 or the mics, not sure which, so it could be related to that. Luckily, it's not noticeable during the louder tracks. At least the recording is complete.
