The Flaming Lips - 2025-06-04 - E-Werk, Cologne, Germany

What a trip, in many ways. My first foolishness: buy a ticket for a venue 250 km from home. Second one: don't step back, even if the family car turns out to be not vacant, travel by train/bus would take 5 hours (one way), other alternatives did not work. So I practised the sunk cost effect by investing twicee the amount for the ticket in a rented car. Additionally the colonge bomb squad cose this very day to evacuate the Colonge inner city and to cause some traffic jams (rail traffic totally broke down, my choice turned out to be the best option).

Was it worth the trouble? You bet!

Without inflatable 5m pink robots, dancing eyeballs & alien, laser fx, robot-shaped confetti, and overall madness, you can still enjoy the music. A bit overblown 'big show'-sound, but enjoyable.

Have fun!
