Total Time ::: 28:36

::: Broadcast #2 NOT recorded by this taper & had 4 more songs. 3 officially released on video (#08 I'm Worried, #09 Like It This Way, #10 The World Keep On Turning) & #11 "Rattlesnake Shake" around on boots & included in DimeTravel's COMPOSITE version of this show.
------------------------------------------------------
::: If you only want one listening version, look for DimeTravel's COMPOSITE - best circulating quality of all uploadable trax & all of them complete.
------------------------------------------------------
::: Somewhat rough quality but greatly improved by the EQ in this version. Check samples for trick or treat.
::: Poorest quality of the 3 Broadcast #1 sources BUT the only complete SINGLE SOURCE (brief fade-up on #01 but begins before others).
::: Warts: Repaired MANY dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. Somewhat muddy, bassy, hissy & distorted but helped by EQ.
::: COMPARISION CLAUSE: Since it's the only complete Broadcast #1 single source, even tho' it's rough, this EQ'd version was done.
::: Shortly after the gig, NRK (Norwegian TV) broadcast portions in 2 parts (Pt.1~songs #01-07, Pt.2~songs #08-11).
::: #01-07 Broadcast #1 has 3 different taper sources of varying quality & completeness. More info below. Quality: HYARAR best/AERL middle/TROD poor.
::: DATE: Previously gig date debated. A 2000 "Goldies" (Norwegian LP collector mag) article said NRK labeled it 1969-11-06. Hjort's book "Strange Brew" quotes a 1969-11-04 "Aftenposten" (Norwegian newspaper) review, "The big hits Albatross & Oh Well were performed to standing ovations during yesterday's concert", indicating 1969-11-03. In "Dagbladet" (Norwegian newspaper) 1969-11-01 on microfilm DIMER hyarar found an ad for the 1969-11-03 8pm show, so we have a published ad & followup review for 1969-11-03. Therefore, Mac drove or flew 160 miles from Gothenburg (1969-11-02) to Oslo, then 260 miles back for 1969-11-04 Stockholm.
::: TV station edited applause and/or omitted songs between #03&04, 05&06 & maybe others.
::: Duster Bennett was the opening act.
::: "All Over Again" is correct title says DIMER kingrue (1st issued on BB King 45 in '65), NOT "Got A Mind To Give Up Living" (as often listed, including on Butterfield Blues Band's "East West") & NOT "I've Got A Mind To Give Up Living" as oft noted online. Green intros it here correctly. Mac played it live '69-70 but there's no official release. (NOT the '95 identically titled McVie-penned song on "Time").
::: Njrdhallen is an indoor sports arena. F.Mac also played the hall on 1969-03-29 (7 months earlier).
::: This Oslo project was almost 2 years (on & off) in the making & countless hours of work. If you dig it, holler!

Recording Information ::: NRK TV 'master' mono soundboard broadcast -> unknown reel-to-reel recorder -> 'TROD' master reel-to-reel tape -> 1st generation TDK SA-60 cassette (no noise reduction).

Playback 2014-03-16 ::: 1st generation TDK SA-90 cassette on NAD 6340 tape recorder with Dolby off, azimuth adjusted for individual tapes -> Harman Kardon HK 3380 -> Roland Edirol R-05 digital recorder -> 16bit/96kHz wav files.

Remastering 2014-04-xx to 2016-01-xx ::: 16bit/96kHz wav files -> Audacity [normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, pop, click, dropout & dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, -5.115% pitch (speed) fix to match to pitched HYARAR source using #04 for average with single pass after frequency analysis & with pitchpipe verification. NO NR but EQ WAS used here. Dithered down to 44.1kHz on this version after remastering work.] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. (Note: NRK used typical ALC/limiters, raising low signals - noticable at times but a minor issue!) First uploaded week of 2016-01-30.

Line-up ::: Line-up ::: Peter Green: electric guitar, vocals // Danny Kirwin - electric guitar, vocals // Jeremy Spencer - electric guitar, vocals // John McVie: electric bass // Mick Fleetwood - drums, percussion.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

DimeTravel 260 ::: Thanks to the original tapers & traders! MAJOR thanks to DIMER hyarar for Sources 1-3 & 9, transfers, date research & patience. Thanks to DIMERs kingrue for song title help & gv000 for additional date research. ::: Corrections welcome ::: I'd no idea how deep a mess I was stepping into with this project, but 2 years later I'm finally done & most delighted with the results. There are some standout versions of songs in this show & I think it's a very meaningful contribution to the Fleetwood Mac canon. You can have your Green & listen to it, too. The individual taper versions are being uploaded for those in need. I think the original version of this source is too rough for real listening, but this EQ'd version passes some kind of muster for those who want essentially all one quality source for listening. Personally I prefer the COMPOSITE version by far the best, but each to his or her own musical ear wax cutting device. Enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees

VARIOUS CIRCULATING SOURCES with recording & speedfix details __NO OFFICIALLY RELEASED TRAX INCLUDED IN UPLOADS__
All originally mono recordings made by NRK TV. Used 1,3,4,8 for individual source versions, & COMPOSITE (need 5&7 to complete it, or a boot source).

Source 1: HYARAR original TV Broadcast #1 -> Philips mono cassette recorder -> 'HYARAR' Master Philips C-90 cassette (no noise reduction). Best quality of Broadcast #1 but many songs incomplete. Recorder paused between trax to conserve tape. Contains: 01. ...I Held My Baby Last Night (fades in 1&2 seconds later than TROD / 02. Stranger Blues (cuts ~90secs before end) / 03. ...Coming Your Way (starts ~90secs late & cuts at end in fade-out note) / 04. All Over Again (missing opening notes & cuts ~35secs before end) / 05. (-Oh Well-) (NOT taped by this source) / 06. (-Albatross-) (NOT taped by this source) / 07. ...Loving Kind (starts ~7secs late & missing last 70secs). Once remastered & repaired only left channel used. Best quality, but not as a single source. Works very well in COMPOSITE version & supplies ~40%. COMPOSITE & SINGLE SOURCE: single -5.7% averaged pitch adjustment.
------------------------------------------------------
Source 2: HYARAR original TV Broadcast #2 -> Philips mono cassette recorder -> 'HYARAR' Master Capitol C-90 cassette (no noise reduction). #08-10 choppy & inferior quality to DVD&VHS official sources & #11 inferior to boot CD source. Noticeably rougher quality than his Broadcast #1 made on a Philips cassette. Once remastered & repaired only left channel kept. Trax #08 (-4.182%), #09 (-4.410%) #10 (-4.45%) pitched to DVD & #11 (-5.095%) to match pitched boot CD. Contains: 08. ...I'm Worried (cuts near end) // 09. ...Like It This Way (cuts right at end) // 10. The World Keep On Turning // 11. ...Rattlesnake Shake (cuts at end). __SOURCE NOT USED. TRAX #8,#09,#10 NOT INCLUDED in uploads!__
------------------------------------------------------
Source 3: AERL original TV Broadcast #1 -> 'AERL' master (or 1st generation) tape -> 1st (*or 2nd) generation TDK SA-90 cassette (no noise reduction). 2nd best quality of the 3 Broadcast #1 sources but missing #02. Contains: 01. ...I Held My Baby Last Night (fades in at start/ 02. (-Stranger Blues-) (NOT taped by this source) / 03. Coming Your Way / 04. All Over Again / 05. Oh Well / 06. Albatross / 07. Lovin' Kind. COMPOSITE: Matched individual trax speed with fixed HYARAR Source 1. SINGLE SOURCE: All -4.23% to match to pitched HYARAR source (used #04 for average).
------------------------------------------------------
Source 4: TROD original TV Broadcast #1 -> unknown reel-to-reel recorder -> 'TROD' master reel-to-reel tape -> 1st generation TDK SA-60 cassette (no noise reduction). Most complete (only missing opening of #01) but worst quality by far of the 3 Broadcast #1 sources - distorted & muffled. NOT a viable single source listening version IMO, however Mk7/8 are attempts at single source 'TROD with EQ' versions anyway. Note: Both channels inverted to resemble wav form on AERL & HYARAR sources. Contains: 01. ...I Held My Baby Last Night (fades in at start but earlier than other 2 sources) / 02. Stranger Blues / 03. Coming Your Way / 04. All Over Again / 05. Oh Well / 06. Albatross / 07. Loving Kind. COMPOSITE: (#01 1st 1.5secs & part of #02) matched individual trax speed with pitched HYARAR Source 1. SINGLE SOURCE: All -5.115% to match to pitched HYARAR source (used #04 for average).
------------------------------------------------------
Sources 5a/b: "arly Years" PAL VHS '94 UK Castle & NTSC VHS '95 USA Rhino. No voiceover. Brief tuning up before #08 not on later DVD releases. Contains #08/09/10. __These trax NOT INCLUDED in uploads!__
------------------------------------------------------
Source 6: "arly Years" DVD 1999? Image Entertainment. No voiceover (missing some brief tuning up before #08 found on '94-95 VHS tapes). Speed correct. Contains #08/09/10. __These trax NOT INCLUDED in uploads!__
------------------------------------------------------
Source 7a/b: "arly Years" DVD 2006 Sanctuary & 2007 unconfirmed label reissue. Roughly same as Source 5 but has some narrative voiceovers added. Contains #08/09/10. __These trax NOT INCLUDED in uploads!__
------------------------------------------------------
Source 8: "Greener Pastures" boot CD #1 (2 Mac boots have this name) BBC & Boston Tea Party collection PLUS Oslo TV '69 cut #11 more complete & better quality than Source 2 but too bright. CDDA test probability 100%. Presumably pre-broadcast TV studio tape. +1.5% speed adjustment to correct. CD mis-labelled as live on "Swedish" TV.
------------------------------------------------------
Source 9: "Greener Pastures" boot CD #2 (2 Mac boots have this name) Amsterdam Roughage trax & Oslo TV '69 Broadcast #2 (#08-11). Unsure of quality but doubt it upgrades legit DVD source. Contains #08/09/10/11. __Trax #08/09/10 NOT INCLUDED in uploads!__
------------------------------------------------------
Sources 10+: Supposedly another source of NRK Broadcast #2 circulates with uncut versions of #08/09/10/11. Other sources circulate as well - possible other "Early Years" DVD versions. Various bootleg DVD's include #08/09/10/11 - "The Early Years 1967-1970" (Northern Disc label) & "Need Your Love So Bad-Early Fleetwood Mac" (aka "Early Times Live") (unknown label). A 45 minute 'AUD' tape circulates (really AUD or TV broadcasts dupe?). __NO RELEASED TRAX INCLUDED in uploads!__
