Geetarz Comments:

For the final show in our "engagement hat-trick" (see http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=253043 and http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=256951) we had to make the drive from Pittsburgh to Atlantic City ... not normally a daunting task, but certainly made interesting because no one in the greater Philadelphia area seemingly wanted to go ANYWHERE. So after going from Pittsburgh to A/C via central New Jersey, we made it in time to have a nice cheese steak on the boardwalk, meet a new friend, and settle into our seats. As with our previous experience with Atlantic City crowds (see http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=227784) ... man, what a bunch of decrepit old stiffs! This was more like an AARP convention than a rock concert. Whereas the crowds at our previous Mac shows this tour (Pittsburgh and East Rutherford) were on their feet the whole night in the floor sections, even a crooked TV preacher couldn't have healed these poor souls enough to get them
up off their dead asses. The lack of energy on the floor at least had the opposite effect as the band did try to work harder to get everyone involved. In a totally nonshocking development, the setlist was the same as every other Mac show this tour, as was the mostly predictable stage patter. Stevie seemed to be in much better form than the earlier portion of the tour, she was much more relaxed on stage and ... for the chiffonheads in the audience, yes she was twirling at full speed!

The band did their best to put on a good show, but I feel the lack of audience participation cut things a bit short, as we didn't get a 2nd encore as most other audiences on this tour have received. Not that it was deserved ... by the time "Go Your Own Way" began people were shuffling to the exits with their walkers, I'm guessing one of the casinos had a late night cheapskate blue plate special on offer, or perhaps the hookers on atlantic avenue were having a 50% off sale.

Regardless, it was a fun show, and as always, play it loud and enjoy!
