Total Time ::: 1:01:54

::: Quite fine, clear & bright tho' slightly distant AUD. Check samples to try the suit on for size or for some hand slappin' jolly giggles.
::: Warts: Almost none, except a bit distanct & some music missing at tapeflips betwixt 9&10 & 17&18 (missed most of 10). Surely missed a few dullspotsape. Some clapping during 8 & few mike bumps at start of 17 (reduced).
::: Hard Meat & Climax Chicago (Climax Blues Band) opened. Don't know if they were taped by this source.
::: Someone can perhaps verify that track 6 is, in fact, correctly titled.

Recording Information ::: master mono audience reel-to-reel (30 minutes per side), Uher portable mono reel to reel tape recorder, external microphone (unknown brand) -> master mono reel to reel audience tape (tape speed unknown)1st generation Maxell XLII-90 cassette, Dolby B on (circa 1990 transfer). Somebody will know what speed this was (2 tape flips in just over an hour...).

Playback 2011-06-23 ::: 1st generation Maxell XLII-90 cassette on Nakamichi BX-300 cassette deck, Dolby B on, azimuth & speed adjusted (pitched!) for individual recording, heads cleaned & demagnatized -> Tascam CD-RW900SL professional CD recorder -> Verbatim CD-RW, no track splits, one file per side -> computer -> EAC secure mode (logs made) -> wav file(s)

Mastering 2013-07-xx ::: Audacity (normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch / dropout / bump / pop / click / dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, further speed fixes if necessary, NO equalisation) -> CD Wave (track splits) -> Trader's Little Helper -> yer ears. First uploaded week of 2013-6-06.

Line-up ::: Chris Hillman - bass, mandolin, vocals // Bernie Leadon - lead guitar, banjo, vocals // Michael Clarke - drums // Rick Roberts - rhythm guitar, vocals // Sneaky Pete Kleinow - pedal steel.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

CoolSonics 262 ::: Thanks to the original taper & trader! As with so many of OUR! favourite British sourced recordings of the late 60's & 70's, this hailed from "The Man In The Palace", so all hats off to him. Royal thanks! ::: Corrections welcome ::: Kinda like putting yr favorite pair of Levi's - it fits real good, 'tis completely familiar & fills the void like it should. Excellent band & a very classy set with an outstanding version of their then brand new single, "Tried So Hard". Killer guitar tone on "Wild Horses". The first half of the set is really fine, but the second half they move into full gear & raise the roof off the building. Enjoy!

Kudos to Zongo for life support, Lochner for mikes&more & Fast Freddie for runnin' Video Dick's Record Emporium with the bathroom office full of tape decks. Thanks to Hanwaker (few among us can keep his pace). Mountains of gratitude to Davmar, D.White, Sanchez, Elliot, The Florida Kid, Kloiber, Zingg, JTW, Bershaw, Boston Gold, Dixon, Moore, Gough & SO many more for all that collecting & sharing... Royal thanks to The Man In The Palace, Doc Tinker, Brinkhoffs, Barely Eatin', Reel Master Gaule, Parrish & all the traders who housed me thru my music acquisition & travel years. Hats off to Brother Kent, Uncle Jake, Little Queenie (& her neighbor Frank) & his honor Ptomaine Thomas. Glasses raised to Byron for musical horizon expansion & much obliged to J & Thurston for keepin' my concert fires burnin' since my continental shift. Thanks to the Mods for keepin' DIME alive. Enjoy, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
