1st time for Focus at the Tivoli which is a great little venue & suits the band perfectly (i.e. nice clean sound, big elevated stage, very polite, friendly audience). OK, there were a few gremlins with the PA & Drums early on, but nothing major. A fanastic performance as always by this excellent band who played with skill, style & a touch of humour as ever.

I was lucky enough to get a great seat (2nd row, centre stage) so that there is a good chunk of back-line sound in the mix on this recording in with the house PA. The audience was super-quite so this is a very, very, clean recording & sounds GREAT, IMHO.
A few points of interest:
- no encore was played as the theatre had a curfew (DOH!!);
- Strangely we lost P.vd L. from behind the drum kit at the beginning of 'All Hens On Deck' when the 3 remaining members of the band were quizicaly mouthing to each other: "where has he gone?"
- During Thijs' solo, he went for a wander amongst the crowd around the theatre whilst playing (acoustically) his flute.

For those interested - basic details of the mastering applied to my original LS-14 recording (using Wavelab6 & HarBal) are as follows:
(a) Apply EQ / Compression
(b) adjust phase to fix a few issues
(c) Apply Limiting (-0.6dB max)
(d) fade ins & outs
(e) track split

A note for any finicky audiophiles out there:
Mastering has been done to polish the raw master recording with the aim of enhancing the listening experience. If you prefer virgin recordings, unspoiled by any such amateur 'dabbling' then do not join in on this one. Be warned now ... I don't want any whingeing! ;-)

But for the rest of you Dime'ers I recommend that you GO FOR THIS ONE ... you won't be disappointed!
I score the sound quality as 9 out of 10 ( = A- ); but hey! ... don't flame me if you don't agree ... & at least keep it friendly ;-)
