Frank Zappa 1968 08 03 - Wollman Rink, Central Park, New York, NY This tape has been chopped-up and circulated in uncountable combinations and permutations, with uncountable date/location labels. In short: the recording consists of 4 segments, about 15 min each. I have encountered segment 1, 3 and 4 as separate entities, segment 1 + 2 together, and 1 + 2 + 4 together. With the surfacing of this version, which can be traced right back to the source, it seems we can finally assume that they all belong together, and that this is the correct sequencing - something I've always suspected, but never found evidence for. The current FZShows entry for this show is quite complex - this is a simplified version of the show as presented here: 1968 08 03 - Wollman Rink, Central Park, New York, NY Late Show: 61 min, Stage, A- Jazz Rock Heavily Influenced By Al Kooper (flute solo), Help I'm A Rock, Baby Love, Big Leg Emma, Holiday In Berlin, Trouble Every Day, Orange County Lumber Truck Medley Lineage: Stage recording -> ? The high-end might be a little harsh, but with the clarity and stereo sound here, this has quickly become one of my favorite 1960s tapes.
