Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention
July 5, 1971
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
CKGM-FM Studios

acoustic live in studio performance. Sound quality is not very good but it is much more listenable after the speed was corrected.

Slowed down by 5.9 percent and tracked tighter. Some minor clicks and level changes were also seamlessly removed. Edits done with Pro Tools. New FLAC files (level 8) created with xACT with sector boundaries verified. md5 file created with checkSUM+.

Frank Zappa with Mark Volman, Howard Kaylan, Jim Pons, Ian Underwood, Bob Harris & Aynsley Dunbar

This recording is listed as being from various different dates and radio stations. The correct info is hopefully what is listed here. Frank says that they are on CKGM in track 7. CKGM-FM changed to CHOM-FM in October of 1971, and since this tape is often listed as being from November, 1971, the confusion on the radio station has been common. But a close listen reveals that it is CKGM and since Bob Harris is in the band, it has to be from mid-'71. The Mothers did a live show in Montreal on July 4th, 1971 and this recording was apparently from much later that night (They comment more than once about how it's the middle of the night).

Enjoy!

FRANK's notes:

It looks like this show has been on tracker before, at the end of 2005 and early 2006. The BOT is missing an upload notice of the one instance with the July 1971 date, that one was removed on Decmeber 23, 2005 after 55 days on tracker and being snatched 175 times. The other version has an August of 1971 date, and the confusion regarding date and radio station is amply discussed in the original info file.

Where did FRANK get this? He doesn't remember. FRANK is admittedly a Flo and Eddie fan, and is most likely to have downloaded this either from DIME/EZT or Zappateers (during the brief moment that FRANK paid attention to what was going on at Zappateers).

Just think of it as another excuse to think they were diving for pearls or was it love?
