comments;
this is close to the quality of the Toronto post (possibly one additional tape
generation in this), not quite as clean but maybe slightly more frequency range
and about half an hour longer concert. This is apparently the usual full length
73 Zappa show, Frank mentions that some of his songs were written in NY (he's liked
NYC for years, released a live album from NY a few years after this). It's a good
performance, there's some crowd noise and occasional talking but not too much and
the recording is pretty decent for hockey arena audie. I know someone out there's
thinking, hmmm, a couple of 73 Zappa ups from Toronto and NY, I like posting in 3's,
so there's a Boston 73 show coming to fill out my trilogy... I wish. I don't have
that one. Boston's show was at the Music Hall, not at the home of the Bruins. I can
only bring you NHL Frank, apparently. Last time in the Maple Leafs' home, this time
the Islanders. (This is not by design.) if anyone has the Boston show in a decent quality
I'd like to hear it. this is for anyone hoping to hear a 73 NY Zappa show (this was not
the only 73 Zappa show in NY, but it was the only one I know of at Nassau Coliseum.
They also played Queens College in Brooklyn. I don't have that either.73 was a very long
tour, and quite a few of them had Jean Luc Ponty)
There are a couple of minor flaws in this recording but not nearly enough to spoil
a pleasant listen. as usual a sound sample is posted in the comment column.
do not sell this recording.
(because frankly that would not be cool)
Trade freely, losslessly and gaplessly.
Keep Zappa music clean.
do not encode to eMPty3.
