The Freak Mountain Ramblers at McMenamin's Sandtrap in Gearhart, OR, 13 July 2012. Another good night; what's to say? Two good sets. There was a wedding party there fresh from their rehearsal dinner so they were revved and between them and the regulars the place was packed wall to wall.
The second set has the encore track dropped so that it would fit onto a CD. Sorry about that. You can't have it all in this life. The rest of the second set is intact except for the intro by a charming woman from Brisbane, Australia, related to the great drummer, Roger North.
Recording chain:
Line Audio CM3's in a NOS array
Line Audio OM1's in a NOS array and then a 40cm AB array for thye second set
Soundboad tap.
Sound Devices 788T at 24/44.1. Mixed and mastered in Samplitude Pro X. Compression on the vocal track and also on the output buss.
As usual, buy these guys' CD's, go to their shows and support this great band, America's best bar band, in every way you can. And remember, Church on Sunday night at the Laurelthirst, Glisan and 28th in Portland, OR.
