John Lennon's 65th B-Day

Source: Sony ECM-MS907 > Sony MiniDisc MZ-R70 > CDR > FreeRip > You

This is a (mainly) solo guitar tribute to John Lennon on his 65th birthday by flamenco/classical/all-around-guitar-god Fred Benedetti. To flesh out the songs, Fred utilizes a loop sampler for the multiple parts. For most numbers, he goes through the basic foundation of the song and then it builds from there with bass lines and solos and such, quite a sight to behold!

Any fan of the Beatles, John Lennon or the guitar owes it to themselves to hear this show!

Recording notes: The microphone was placed directly in front of Fred on the stage. The clicking here and there that you hear is the sound of his foot hitting the 0pedals - not really intrusive at all, but I thought you might want to know where the sound was coming from. Also, the crowd was very quiet and attentive, as a result you can hear crickets doing their thing in the spaces between songs and applause. Great audience!!

The following year I videotaped Fred's Lennon tribute, so check out my YouTube page if you want a preview of what this is all about: http://www.youtube.com/Banjodylan
