notes:
-from my archives, I don't recall seeing this on DIME and I had it laying around, it sounds real nice and bright/wide ("A-"), and is a HOT short set,
as Freddie is excited to finally be "invited to Monterey."
-this is my guess on band members based on his normal quintet from 1980 - he never announces musicians to verify.
-"Little Sunflower" is my favorite Freddie tune, and great versions of "One of Another Kind" and "Skagly" (listen to his story behind the title to it
while he's scatting on it for a chuckle) just fun(k)s out! Untitled track 04 is a sweet ballad. And great "First Light" - band in top form throughout
as is Freddie and Davis on solos.
-there are some abrupt cuts after most tunes - I guess someone was trying to conserve tape space somewhere along the line. Tracked as best as possible
around cuts. "First Light" just fades - anyone have more complete/master version? Please share!
-mastered and seeded by matt23.
-trade freely in lossless formats, but please do not sell!!!
