This is a bit of a weird one in that we're getting a soundboard recording of a really good band recorded when they're clearly not at their best. The troubles here seem to center on new material being played and Paul Kossoff in seemingly poor shape. Everyone is enough of a pro to give it the best they can, but it's an interesting comparison to make between this and another Free soundboard that's recently been shared here from a couple of nights later in Bracknell. The Bracknell set sees them playing essentially the same set, but elements of it are night and day apart. As much as I loved Koss, it seems a lot of it might've been down to him. Regrettably, this one makes it a bit more tangible as to why Koss wasn't on the US tour that came up early in 1973.
Sharing this now nonetheless because a few recent Free shares got a decent reception, and this particular one seems never to have been on DIME very much in the past. This does also find the band featuring songs from their recent post-Highway endeavors (including KKT&R) and newer songs that would be on their final album, Heartbreaker. They only look further back in the final two songs of the set.
sbe's were found, and they were repaired in TLH. The Audacity work centered on a few minor tracking tweaks, some very light mastering, and an attempt to bring the level up on the first part of Child, which had been at a much lower volume level. That part of Child is still far from ideal, but the level better matches the remainder of the song.
