I've never circulated this show. I taped Sting earlier the same evening at Constitution Hall, then caught a cab over to the 930 Club for the Meters. Hailing a cab took time, then the cabbie got lost, so I got to the Meters just after they came on stage, so part of the first tune is missing, but that is all. Then, for reasons I'm still not clear on, I did not change batteries in the cab, and the battery in the VMS failed during the show. No music was lost, as the VMS just lowered the output when the voltage dropped. I changed the batteries hot, causing a couple of quick dropouts, though. It wasn't until recently that I went into the audio file and corrected, as best I could, the drop in volume. I think to most people's ears, it will just sound like level adjustment. This was the first tour (to DC) that the Meters allowed open taping, so that really helped the cause, as stealthing at the 930 Club was tough, and the battery change would never have happened. Anyway, here it is, a pretty hot show, continuing the Meters flood. I have not made a setlist, so any help appreciated. Enjoy!
