Garland Jeffreys has done it all…studied art history in Florence…released
a dozen albums on labels such as A&M, Atlantic, Epic, RCA…his albums
have featured guest artists like Lou Reed, Dr. John, Sly & Robbie,
David Johansen, members of the E Street Band…songs “Wild In the Streets,”
“Ghostwriter,” “R.O.C.K.,” and his version of “96 Tears” are all staples
on WXPN…song “Matador” was a #1 hit single in Germany, Austria,
Belgium and Holland…performed on Late Night With David Letterman…
opened for The Rolling Stones, Tom Waits, Jimmy Cliff, Toots & The Maytals
…and was in the stands (at age 4) for Jackie Robinson’s Ebbets Field debut!

“A man of diversity with music to match… Had he been born earlier,
Mr. Jeffreys could have had a career as a jazz singer… Had he been born later,
he might have been a peer to Citizen Cope and Ben Harper, who mix up their playlists
and benefit from followings not bound by the dictates of radio.”

-Wall Street Journal, 2010

“one of the rock world's forgotten heroes… in the '70s and early '80s,
this singer-songwriter-guitarist commanded a cult following, convinced that his thoughtful
autobiographical songs, Latin- and reggae-tinged political statements and roaring rock
anthems were hits waiting to happen.”

-Newark Star-Ledger, 2002
