Genesis: The Lostbrook Tape Series - Volume 123

Therese was the engineer for my college radio show,
and though there was plenty of Genesis on my playlist,
she was still in need of further education. We drove
to Penn Station and took the Amtrak to Philadelphia,
where we had lower level seats in a far corner of the
Spectrum. She had heard about some of my previous antics,
so I decided to show off my seat-improvement abilities.
We initially joined some friends in the orchestra, but we
had to move around a few times. I recorded Tracks 1 through 8
from several locations within the first 15 rows. Eventually,
our luck ran out and we were forced to leave during "I Know What
I Like." I continued to record as we went up the steps and out
into the corridor. We decided to return to our original seats,
but found them occupied. Accepting the irony of the situation,
we headed for some empty seats in the upper level, where we
remained for the rest of the concert. There's some commotion
from our multiple moves, and some extra chatter as I gave my
friend "Genesis lessons." This one is for Therese - hopefully,
it will find its way into her hands one day. It was a trip I
will always remember.
