===========================================

This is a very impressive line-up of Jazz heavies.

In the finest tradition of Jazz, Geoff's musical repertoire is a blend of the older traditional "standards," mixed with modern interpretations utilizing contemporary jazz harmonies. All the players are exceptional in their musical abilities and are well versed in interactive improvisational interpretations. Live ensemble jazz music at it's finest.

Playing Vibraphone, Piano, and Organ, Geoff is probably best known as a long standing member of a local Marin band, the infamous 'Sons Of Champlin.' The 'Sons' played a Rhythm and Blues style of music, laced with a jazz flavor.

The Geoff Palmer Quartet is different. It is solidly centered around traditional jazz styles and harmonies. No sequencers or midi here. This quartet makes it's music the old fashion way. It plays it.

Geoff Palmer - Piano, Vibraphones

A long time Marin Co. resident and member of the infamous "Sons Of Champlin," Geoff is the 'jazz' influence in the Sons. Being a veteran studio/performance musician, he's played on many recordings and has appeared in countless numbers of different bands in the Bay Area. Geoff is a composer as well and uses this skill to select material to perform that exhibits exemplary principles in the genre of jazz. A high bottom line, to say the least.

Chris Hayes- Guitar

Chris Hayes made his mark in the industry as the lead guitarist (for 22 years) with "Huey Lewis And The News." Although Huey is a 'pop' band, Chris has been an excellent jazz player, all along. Chris has appeared with many local jazz artists, including Pee Wee Ellis, Dave Leibman, Van Morrison, Merl Saunders & Mark Isham.

Tim Haggerty - Bass & Keyboards

Tim is a long time Bay Area resident and is the younger brother of Terry Haggerty, Guitarist with the Sons of Champlin. Tim has played and recorded with Jessie Collin Young, WBBH, Fact or Fiction (with his Brother,) Jewel (for the Super Bowl,) Michael Bolivar (of the Duke Ellington band) and the Geoff Palmer Quartet.

James Preston - Drums

James is also a long time member of the infamous "Sons Of Champlin," and appears on 6 of the 8 albums recorded by the Sons over the years. In addition to playing in the Geoff Palmer Quartet, James has accompanied and recorded with some of the finest including Bobby McFarren, Dr. John, Moby Grape, Maria Muldaur & Lydia Pense from Cold Blood.
