A LARSM recording
---

Rec. Info:
Sony ECM 719 mic -> Sony PCM D50 (at WAV 16/44) -> HD -> USB stick (received via snailmail) -> my HD -> Audacity (edit/remaster) -> WAV 16/44 -> TLH8 -> FLAC -> DIME ->
YOUR EARS AND MIND...on a funky stomp...
Recorded by dear Lars at 5-6 meters from stage center. The tape was very weak on the low end and the volume, so I fixed those for an even more satisfying listening. Crowd noise is
never disturbing, a lot of sing along from the norwegian "funksters". All could be well and fine if I wasn't a bit suspicious about the possible "automatic gain leveling" from the
recorder. Vocals and crowd noises (freak outs after some songs) are quite loud, and instrumental parts went down "in a valley". Tried to fix that anomaly, too.
Anyway big thanks to our viking taper warrior for "standing straight and still" during this almost 3 hours show!!! Respect!

Well in my almost 4 years of posting shows here on DIME and most likely done way beyond 1000 (I have not counted them), this recording from my dear friend Lars is quite something
special and different to all those before. It's just that I had never covered any band from the FUNK genre before. There were surely shows that did have a certain funky feeling, but
not this REAL DEAL. To my personal shame I've to admit that I got the first 4 Funkadelic CDs from the Remaster-Releases about 10 years ago, and got some mid/end 70's shows as CDRs
floating around in the thousands of their kind somewhere...That's all I know from them. Oh, besides some real fine cover versions of MAGGOT BRAIN from e.g. WIDESPREAD PANIC.
Anyway, you see, I'm not the REAL FUNK EXPERT. What I like about this recording is the simply joyful very smooth and friendly atmosphere from band to audience and versus. Kinda same
vibe that was possibly on a GRATEFUL DEAD concert (that had been stated very often), though the music is completely different. Can't really compare as I had experienced 12 DEAD shows,
but none from Mr. CLINTON. But as I've written before, this is "new land" for me. Hope you like what our norwegian/westphalian team will serve for the intergalactic funkastomp of your
heart, bones and (hopefully not) maggot brain...SB.
