George Harrison

12 November 1974, evening show

LA Forum, Los Angeles, California, USA

George Harrison's evening show at the Los Angeles Forum on 12 November 1974. This set originally included five soundboard tracks from the matinee, but as they're mp3 sourced, they've been excluded. The review below notwithstanding, the sound on the audience tape is very clean, only lacking a little in the treble. A lot of the Indian music cuts out early on as the taper no doubt decides it isn't rock and roll enough to be worth recording.

Bootlegzone comments:
"These soundboard tracks turned up recently in an internet broadcast and lots of people were having trouble capturing them, so I thought I'd put them on CD-R. As a bonus i've included the complete audience tape of the evening show that doesn't seem to be too common. I had trouble getting a good copy of the matinee show, but luckily the evening show isn't too bad performance or audiowise. I've heard a lot worse from this tour.

"The soundboard tracks were captured straight off the mp3 broadcast stream and recorded as WAV so no further compression has been added. There has also been no no-noise or EQ added to the soundboard tracks. Unfortunately no amount of equalisation or no-noising can save the audience tape. As for the artwork... I was going for that old bootleg LP look, à la "Let's Hear It For Lord Buddha!". Tell me what you think!"

Bootlegzone Reviews:
"Man, whoever compiled this, great work! Great CD!!" FoxHound, Nov 2007

"The soundboard tracks have the best sound of anything I've heard from George's '74 tour. Too bad there's only 5 such tracks. The remaining tracks are barely listenable." Shears64, Apr 2008

"Of course the AUD quality is not excellent, but is better than other recordings; the artwork is amazing and the liner notes are pretty interesting. All in all, I find this CD quite enjoyable and a collector's piece of course!" FoxHound, Nov 2007
