Comments:

George Thorogood's support set at the hometown stop of his summer tour with Buddy Guy. He generally was the headliner on these dates, but the "opening act" status didn't affect the energy he put into his performance. A high-energy set from start to end, and his exuberance was not matched by the crowd in the pavilion, who mostly remained seated and offered tepid applause between songs. He called out the rare fans who actually seemed moved by his performance.

It's a little weird to see the guy who was the "bad boy" in the 1980s putting on a similarly raucous performance in the 2010's; it was uncomfortable hearing him banter about the potential for heavy drinking and getting arrested when the entire band are now AARP members, but nonetheless he still does a credible job belting out the party rock and roll songs. "Help Me" was a highlight for me, although the crowd seemed to respond most to "Get a Haircut" (which must have come along after I stopped following him in the 1990s).
This was recorded very close -- 2nd row, right-side. The sound was great, but I suspect the vocals were mostly coming out of the overhead PA. Other than the vocals being a little low in the mix, the balance was really good overall and there was no crowd noise nearby.

A 24-bit version will be posted separately. Mp3 samples are included in the comments.
