Justdave's comments:
Having the late Edwin Starr open up the show served a double purpose if you asked me. This high energy performer always had his audiences on their feet from the start of his set to the finish, and there is no better way to warm a crowd. The man also made it hard to follow him so anyone who had to really needed to bring their A-Game or forget about it. So notice duly served to performer and crowd both, it was up to Gladys Horton & The Marvelettes, The Supremes, and Martha Reeves & The Vandellas to keep the pulse rolling until the big finale. The Temptations and The Four Tops on stage at the same time! Singing together and firing of hit after hit in succession. It doesn't get much better than this ladies and gentlemen. This is a fabulous recording of one of those once in a lifetime events so don't miss it!
Many thanks to justdave for sharing this recording through his blog.
