Another great Gil Evans show.
This is from the 1986 spring tour, one of the best.For me better than the autumn tour.
Gil was for longtime for his standards with the same personnel and made historical concerts.
Frequently during the tours the personnel changed.
For the concerts in Lugano (may 3), Milano (may 5), and Firenze (may 7) and for this the musicians were (about sure) the same and the orchestra was at his best, whith a great and compact sound.
The Lugano was seeded here and Firenze and Milano were partially released by New Tone (the Honey Man). If someone has the complete concerts...!!!!

I have seen a lot of concerts: Monk, Gillespie, Mulligan, Miles, Ornette, Max Roach, Rollins, Blakey, Mingus, Ellington among the others... but the Firenze show by Gil is one of my greatest memories in live jazz.

Sorry for these probably too personal considerations....!!!
