Comments: Recorded from Row CC, Seat 101 (second row from the back, center section aisle seat). My third time seeing Gillian Welch (with David Rawlings). Prominent local Tucson musicians (Joey Burns-Calexico, Earl Edmondson-Titan Valley Warheads, among others) were seen in the crowd lending a good omen to the evening. Gillian acknowleged the Fox Theatre as a beautiful venue she'd been hearing about for years. The 1,200 seat theater was close to, if not fully sold out. This is a recording of the complete show. During Track 3 (chat) Gillian talks about the last time she played Tucson which was on the campus of the University of Arizona "in a lecture hall". I was at that show in either 1999 or 2000 and the venue was the Social Sciences Auditorium.
