Stripeydave sez: This recording is dedicated to Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. You have both moved in unimaginable ways, and for this I thank you. Someday I hope to thank you in person. Thanks for an outstanding performance. You could not have done me prouder for my first show.

Right Off, my apologies for the quality of the sound. Taping was of secondary importance to me this night. It was more of a "relaxing weekend with my wife" trip, so I would rate it a B-, due to some crowd noise (including me gushing to the missus!) and some rustling here and there as I had to move to let people by me to their seats. Let me tell you, it is very difficult to contain one's excitement sometimes! But all in all, a nice recording when there aren't distractions.

Well, for my first GWDR show all I can say is WOW! Been grabbing every show of theirs I could find as the bug had already bit, so the tension was palpable, almost dreamlike before they took the stage at the beautiful Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, California, which inside, is decorated to resemble an 1800s mexican village. What better place to see them on Cinco de Mayo! From the first notes of Orphan Girl to the last notes of Jackson they were great!

Bright Eyes was fine too, but better when Gil and Dave came out to join him on his encores, one of which was "Look at Miss Ohio", a song I was bummed about them not playing in their set! (Those will be included in the upcoming Bright Eyes torrent.)

So keep your windows open please and try to upload as much as you download. I understand it may be tough on dialup, so if you can't, no worries... just try to share it with as many people as you can by other methods, preferably through random acts of kindness.

One last thing, if you like this show then please go out and buy their albums. You won't be disappointed. Support live Independent Music! The life you save will be your own!
