Notes:
This was my first time at this place/venue. I had read some reviews trying to get an idea of what to expect.
I first passed the entrance up looking for self park only to find out that all shows are valet parking. We pull up in there
and the next thing I know the guy is right there at the car. I haven't even gathered my stuff up or anything, So the
next thing I do is tell my g/f to grab all the stuff while I deal with the parking attendant. I literally crotched
my recorder right there at the front door. When we got in it was very simple, A lady looked, did not scan our tickets and
we were ushered to our table. Table 7? out of 77 tables, All the way against the back wall. I missed the first couple lines
of Gentle On My Mind due to the fact I was fooling around with the level because it seemed very quiet in there. Honestly when
Glen took the stage I was still thinking it was background music. I just happen to look down and see the timer not rolling.
I maybe missed 15 secs of the song. This place was high end and the food was VERY expensive. I thought I was gonna
have a problem with all of the waiters walking around muffling the sound. Even though they walked by nearly brushing the
recorder at times it never affects the recording. I was very happy with the results. Glen showed that he could still pick the
hell out of a guitar and sing pretty damn good. I was impressed when he played Lovesick Blues. How he sang that song
flooded me with memories mostly of my Papaw. He sounded good on She Thinks I still Care also. I chatted with his son Shannon
at the end of the gig when they were packing up. I was asking him about his dad and playing guitar. Funny thing is he said Glen was
the worst teacher at guitar. He said he would do a run and then say "PLAY THAT".. I thought that was funny. When Glen came out at the beginning he did do
the famous saying "HI, I"M GLEN CAMPBELL" just like it was forty years ago. I'm so bummed I didn't capture that.
After talking with some people down front, They said alot of people were taking video so maybe one will show up one day.
I'm glad I went and seen this LEGEND. I hope you enjoy what was captured.
As we were waiting for valet to bring the car up. We were standing inside next to Anita Baker. I thought it was cool she
came out to see Glen Campbell. She was going up to the offices to sign autographs for the owner's wife. That's what I got
from when I heard them talking.
