Notes:
This is a much better than I expected recording made in what is probably the worst
venue in the entire country to see (and record) a show. Located inside a suburban
"slot parlor" casino, the Event Center is basically a huge rectangular convention
room with a 20' ceiling and a small inset stage on one wall. They set up thousands
of folding chairs in this horrible room, and then have the nerve to make all tickets
reserved seating. The PA isn't half as loud as it should be to fill the room, and
the audience is primarily slot players who got complimentary tickets. As a result,
95% of them don't know the band, don't pay attention, and chit-chat through the
whole show. The other 5% who actually paid for a ticket constantly scream and clap
over the insufficent PA. In other words, at this venue, you either get front row
seats or recording is pretty much hopeless. Despite that, I was pleasantly surpised
that this recording from Row 14 isn't half bad. In fact, the biggest issue isn't
the volume or the crowd, but a clicking noise that could be heard through the PA
throughout the show. The drummer mentioned that one of her pedals was "malfunc-
tioning," so that could be the culprit. Aside from that, a decent recording of a
very enjoyable performance.
